The importance of being… Simply being me.
Hi I am Selen, an artist and designer born and living in İzmir Turkey. I studied Commercial Arts in London, UK, specializing in layout and publication. Since 2005, my focus shifted to Ottoman Decorative Arts, particularly in the field of illumination. I am a member of “The Golden Brushes” a group that has been founded by my teacher Havva Sokmener. As a group we held numerous national and international exhibitions. One of my proudest achievements was to be assigned to create a piece that now hangs at the Turkish Embassy in Washington DC.
